CD Reviews

You won't regret..!!

"In my place, Casiopea is well-known, especially in 80s when original member (Isei Noro, Akira Jimbo, Tetsuo Sakurai, Minoru Mukaiya) still on the stage. Their performance was a blast in fussion gig. If you like fusion bands like Mezzoforte, Yellow jacket, Koinonia, Fourplay, etc, then you will like Casiopea.

This live album, was a recorded live performance in 85, not far from the time I saw them with my very eyes. The song they play here almost all their hits at that time. In this performance also, they use wireless guitars/basses, which was unusual at that time. "Looking up", "Piece of Mind", "Down upbeat", "Galactic Funk", really shock me. But the ultimate one for me is Tetsuo Sakurai's Bass Solo. Though it is not listed in the cover, but it's there in this album, after "Looking up".

I personally love this group in 80s, when they were still original member. That's why I prefer their old albums than the new ones. Just have it, and you won't regret. My advice, start it with this live album. If you like it, than you'll love them."
A Must Have Album

"Finally, after waiting for years, I have this album on CD !

I have already have this album in cassete for years (more than 17 years as I can remember), I played this album very recently and I always enjoy the play by these four Japanese gentlemen.

Their music is a unique Japanese Jazz (not a traditional Japanese music fyi), it is more like fusion jazz or jazz rock. As far as I know, I can not find this kind of music in western world. The Rippingtons maybe close enaugh to explain what kind of music that Casiopea plays, but it is quiet different. Casiopea plays more "hard" and have a very unique composition.

This album was live recorded in 1985 in Japan, compiling their best tracks during those years. Since this album has been made in Japan, it is very hard to find in my country. Thanks a lot to Amazon & Caiman.com, finally I can have this !"
