"The arrangements of the songs are pretty accurate in relation to the originals done by Richard Carpenter. The singer who performs the vocal version is very nice...good voice...but alas..she is NO Karen Carpenter! :) Essentially, it's a good cd and enjoy listening to the gorgeous intrumental tracks...the music of the Carpenters is beautiful and those who produced this cd certainly did right by Rich and Karen."

"Understand that when you buy Karaoke CD's, the tracks are usually not from the original recordings. That's pretty normal from what I've found. From that perspective, the quality of this CD is good. The instrument tracks are professionally performed and mixed. The brass/woodwind parts are the only weak point, as they are obviously synthesized (with a couple of exceptions) and thus are not as expressive as real instruments. Some glaring examples are the trumpet solo in Close to You and the harmonica in Rainy Days and Mondays. Overall, though, its good enough for Karaoke. The key signature and tempo are reasonably accurate. The songs do not fade out, they have definite endings, which is kind of nice. Background vocals on the "Performance Tracks" are well blended and in tune. The lead vocals on the "Rehearsal Tracks" are EQ'd OK, and well performed. In my opinion, the real problem with this CD is the price. I realize from the professional nature of the recording, a lot of effort went into producing it, but I just feel it should be cheaper - after all, they only recorded 5 songs - which are pop standards, and they were just copying the original arrangements. I did not test viewing the lyrics on a TV screen. If the price doesn't bother you, then I recommend you buy this CD. I rate this CD 4 stars for the musical performance. I did not consider the price when rating this CD."
