"A friend of mine who was on a European tour this summer recommended Caro Emerald after seeing her live.
Actually, what she said was "You need to go ahead and download "That Man". I have found a new band that I love, because it has everything: pin-up girl singer, dj on the stage, and a band. And it sounds a little like the Muppets".
which is actually a fairly good description. To me, all the music has a late-40s swing/early 50s club vibe to it, plus sort of a Fatboy Slim kinda thing going on. It's really great.
And, "That Man" is oddly reminiscent of The Muppet Show opening theme.
To me, that's a big bonus.
I find these songs getting stuck in my head at odd times, but that's okay. they're all pretty darn good.

Fun Album That You'll Replay Often

"I was introduced to Caro Emerald on a radio show where they never specifically spelled out her name so it took awhile to find her album. Her name is NOT Carol Emmeraux, Carol Emiril, or Carol Emeraude.
She is a great female vocalist with a beautiful voice backed up with excellent musicians. The tracks are stimulating, interesting, and fun. A few tracks have a James Bond feel, especially "A Night Like This", "The Other Woman", and the guitars on "The Lipstick on His Collar".
The music is a mix of jazz and hip-hop with a 1930's feel to a few tracks. Listen to the samples and enjoy. To hear a sample of her voice, there are a few a capella versions of her songs.

"This is a new dutch popstar.
Sne is very popular on the internet with her cover of Lady Gaga's bad romance(not on this album).
Won various prices in Holland; best new talent SNS-Reaal price(15.000 euro's)
Best serious talent(Dutch radio 3)
Best played song on radio 3: 2009 back it up(part of the album)
Also part of the album is a night like this; was number one on the dutch singles charts;(still in the top 10 after 18 weeks!) number one on dutch i-tunes(still in the top 5!) for 4 months.
It was used on the internet for a commercial bij Martini; a big success; being watched one and a half million times.!!
The album was released on 29 januari 2010 and immediately number one on the dutch album charts and still is after 14 weeks and has sold more than 100.000 copies which is quite a lot for Holland having a population of 16 million and the fact that everybody is downloading legally or otherwise.
The album is since its release also number one on the dutch i-tunes albumcharts and still is.
The music is inspired bij movies from the forties and fifties with bigband music and with stars like Grace Kelly and Humprey Bogart.
Its mambo,dance,jazz,hiphop, pop and more!
The band consist of a bass-player; keyboardplayer; 2 saxaphoneplayers; 1 trumpetplayer; 1 guitarplayer; 1 dj, and of course the singer Caro Emerald.
Catchy modern jazzpop; standout tracks: stuck; the other woman, that man;back it up; a night like this;
