"The Topanga Corral was an out of the way beer bar where local and traveling musicians liked to jam in front of a bunch of bikers, old beatniks and wandering hippies. So a good time bar band like the Canned Heat fit in quite nicely.
This CD is a double album set. The first six cuts were released on Wand Records. The rest was folded in from another source. Alan Wilson was the best musician of the group; a master of the harp and a solid player on keyboard, slide and rhythm guitar with a dash of flute for good measure. His vocals are a wispy falsetto that work pretty well with Bob Hite's huskier lead vocals. They played with John Lee Hooker and played a set at Woodstock. If you're a blues fan you should check it out."
