CD Reviews

Real FUNK!

"This album is UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I love every single song! It's one of their best albums, together with 'Cameosis' and 'Alligator Woman'.

I think 'The Sound Table' is one of the best instrumental song I've ever heard...

If you love Funk and Cameo sound, you MUST have it!"
Cameo Does It Again With A Great Funky Beat

"This is Cameo at its best. They go back to their Funk roots with great cuts "Freaky Dancin" and "I Like It". It remined me of their classic hit "Shake Your Pants". This is a must for any Cameo fan."
... and then there's my favourite Cameo album

"Cameo may have had more pop success with subsequent albums like Word Up!, She's Strange and Single Life, but this 1981 classic is the one that has always stayed in my mind and in my heart (with Cameosis not far behind). It's just so much fun. With tunes like "Knights By Nights", "Freaky Dancin'", (another one I remember from "Soul Train" with it's unforgettable opening verse: "People who listen for the best sounds in the groove/ You know we got the music, to make your body move"), "Use It Or Lose It", the pop instrumental "The Sound Table", the crazy "Don't Be So Cool" and "I Like It" (with its fabulous rock guitar solo at the end), the band pack in truck load of funk with a lot of humour. Even the ballads "I Never Knew" and "I'll Always Stay" are gold standard.

I'd been aching to get my hands on this disc for years and paid well over the odds for it. But do I care?"
