Esoteric Recordings are pleased to release the 1977 album Round the Back by Cafe Jacques. Formed in 1973 by guitarist Chris Thomson and keyboard player Peter Veitch, they signed to CBS Records in 1976. With drummer Mike Ogletree they recorded this debut album the following year with producer Rupert Hine. The sessions featured guest appearances by Phil Collins and Caravan alumni Geoffrey Richardson and John G. Perry. Fusing influences as diverse as Caravan, Steely Dan and Genesis, the band s debut album was an impressive work. This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been remastered from the original tapes and fully restores the original album artwork.
