"Master P's No Limit empre was built on family-his younger brothers Silkk the Shocker and C-Murder and his son Lil Romeo. In the mid-90's, these rappers emerged into the forefront of maninstream rap with a series of consecutive hits such as 1995's "Bout it", 1997's "Make em say Ughhh", and 1998's"It aint my fault". The middle brother, C-Murder, never had a hit as big as some of his sibling's, but through his street-smart raps and thugged-out rhymes, he was able to make a name for himself. After releasing a platinum and gold album on his brother P's label(Life or Death(1998) and Bossalinie(1999)), he created his own label-TRU RECORDS, and enjoyed some indie success.
This best of collection is a good summary of C-Murder's career. A large majority of the songs are off of his first two albums Life or Death annd Bossalinie, with some filler included from Trapped in Crime and the abysmal [...]. Those who bought the best of Master P and best of Silkk the Shocker may be dissapointed. There are no killer cuts here, only street-savvy songs which, if you don't have patience, can start to weigh on you after a while. i.e. songs like Akickdoe featuring UGK and Master P and Down for My N's featuring Snoop Dogg and Magic.
This collection, while not as impresiive as some other artists' is sure to have fans of C screaming for his release so that he can make the thugged out music his fans have come to expect from him."
