CD ReviewsI hate to be a bummer buzzgirlie | 08/17/2000 (2 out of 5 stars) "I'm familiar with much of the mid-west music scene and when I picked up this CD I heard the same thing that I've heard when attending a Buzz Poets show... a cover band with rock star aspirations but limited imagination. It (the CD) just doesn't make you think. It's backgound music for a bad party where everyone is talking about when they played high school football. Capable, but run of the mill musicianship meets junior high locker room joke lyrics. Of course some of the riffs are catchy, but it all ends up a little vacant." A good time 10/16/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "A mix between beck and 311. This up and coming band from Pittsburgh recently won the national batle of the bands. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants great party music." The buzzpoets buzzgirlie | 11/29/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "As a Pittsburgher and someone who closely follows the Buzz Poets this album is definitely the epitome of Pittsburgh rock blended into one hard core, funkified, rock, reggae, ska, hiphop wih a taste of swing. The Buzz Poets have an amazing pallette which they express freely and openly. This live album as excellent as it may be doesn't even begin to induldge you in the wonders of the buzz poets live. Certainly a great present for that music lover in everyone. A little bit of sugar, a little bit of spice, Tripper, Phil and the rest of the crew makes everything nice. A definite unique sound all in it's own. This band is going places."
