CD ReviewsStrong CD, better than expected Allister Fiend | Baltimore, MD United States | 08/29/2009 (4 out of 5 stars) "I saw Marq and the new Bulletboys at a rock festival here in Maryland this summer. I really had little interest in seeing them, so I was stunned when they came on and put on an spectacular, high-energy show. Based on that performance, I looked searched for the band online and found that this CD would be released this summer. Finally got it a week or so ago, and it's just as surprising (in a good way) as the performance had been a couple months earlier. Fans of old-school Bulletboys may be a bit dismayed when they hear that the band sounds completely different. It's so different, I'm sure many would say the band shouldn't even be called Bulletboys--but let's face it: Bulletboys have some (probably not much anymore) name recognition, so it's smart to use an established band name. I would liken this to the Skid Row album ThickSkin, which saw (on some cuts, at least) an entirely new sound and direction for a well-established 80's rock outfit. Many gave it bad reviews, saying the new sound didn't work for them. Fair enough. If you can put the new sound aside and listen with open ears, I'd be surprised if there's any hard rock fan that didn't like this album. "Road to Nowhere" isn't the most original title, but the song is excellent. as is the the album opener "Asteroid" and "jenna Star." Actually, they're all pretty good. What's also pretty good (surprisingly so) is the production of the album. I doubt these guys have much of a budget to work with, and yet sonically this album sounds great. Go in with an open mind. Don't expect "Smooth Up In Ya '09" or another "For the Love of Money" and you might just like what you hear." It's worth your time and money! Monique Taylor | Whittier, CA | 08/03/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "Great album... so much more than I expected. Production is actually good and surprisingly clear - with in your face riffs and vocals! My favs - Asteroid, Born to Breed, Jenna Star (radio hit for sure), and Wasted. You won't be disappointed... go to iTunes and listen to the samples... Nice job boys!" Awesome comeback disc! J. Adams | 09/09/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "The new Bulletboys - 10ct. Billionaire, is a great disc. The songs are instantly memorable, and the amazing production adds a 1-2 punch to the Bulletboys sound. This is a must have for anyone that loves hard rock! I would liken this comeback disc to Bon Jovi's "Crush", or Europe's "Start from the Dark" releases. It's the same badass backbeat that Bulletboys have always offered...but with a powerful modern punch, that was well worth the wait. Don't hesiate...check it out!"
