"Ignore nagging reviews by winy wimps who complai nabout "sound quality they shouldn't listen to pre 1950's music, and isntead go buy the latest top 40 hits! That being said, thsi is the perfect introduction to teh music of Bull Mouse Jackson. The sound quality is great and there are no equalizing problems as other reviewers lie about. This cd si perfectly done, and I can't understand how some people go around leaving reviews on sound qaulity and not the music. there are only the perfevtly proper amount of hisses and pops and clciks here, as expected from 78's, and THANKFULLY the producers here are not like teh major laber producers who over-remaster thier vintage artists and add echoes, and clean up the transfers so much, taht all the nostalgia and original sound is taken away. Tis cd is perfect. That being said, Bull Mouse has a rhythmic and appealing voice, smoother then wynonnie Harris' but rougher then Louis Jordan's, his voclas are smokey and course, and properly raspy. Thisd is good time roudy r&b jump bles, that will afford you many years of pleaseure, weather you want to listen or jitterbug or lindy hop, thsi is the PERFECT cd introduction.About the songs, these songs are a perfect representation of Bull Mouses great career of the 40's-50's r&b, and they are somewhat risque and some are full of humor and wit! Great stuff, and a great way to be intoduced to Bull Mouse and jump blues in general.PS I wish all cd's were remastered thsi well"

"See my review for "Greatest Hits: Bow-legged Woman". The same problems that plague that disk affect this one as well.Furthermore, these two disks should have been combined."
