"Normally being in the doghouse is a bad thing. But for Bugz in the Attic, it's a place to make good things happen. Their new release Back in the Doghouse is just more of the creative and innovative music that we've come to expect from Kaidi, Daz, Seiji and the rest of the Bugz.
Doghouse doesn't disappoint when it comes to providing that good broken sound. "Once Twice", "Redhanded", "Happy Days" and others offer up the melodic keys and driving drums that gives broken its two distinct groove lines. Combined with staggered vocals from Bembe Segue', Vanessa Freeman, Don Ricardo and a host of others, including Atlanta's own Alex Latttimore, Doghouse moves along at a very brisk pace.
Cuts like "Consequences", "Knocks Me Off My Feet" and "I'm Gonna Letcha", come with an 80's sound that reminds one of the Stars (Midnight and Atlantic). This is reinforced by the banging remake of "Don't Stop the Music" that throws an uptempo beat on the previously slow groove and has a sweet string arrangement in the breakdown.
Their ability to go back and forth between what moved the crowd before and what moves them now, is part of why Bugz continues to be one of the most creative musical forces around. No need to call the exterminator if you find these Bugz in your house."
