Good Soundtrack

"The James Dean Story is a documentary that was made in the 1950s. It's very dated and slow-paced by today's standards, of interest only to historian documentarians and james dean fanatics. The soundtrack, however, is a little more accesable. This album is full of bebop jazz, with impressive trumpet and piano work. The music sets a perfect tone for the type of music often associated with James Dean's era (the mid 1950s). Although Dean is often associated with youthful rebellion and rock and roll, he actually preferred classical music and jazz (which were still the most popular types of music in America at the time of his death)."

"Chet Baker and Bud Shank; that's really all you need to say. Two terrific musicians at the highlight of their career playing music that is inspired by James Dean. Every jazz lover should have this album."
