"I can't imagine being a jazz fan and giving this less than five stars. I would give it six. This is hard proof against those who claim that Bud lost it after the early fifties. He is playing as brilliantly as he ever did. Perhaps more so. Then add K Clarke and O Petiford!! Then the Hawk on three long tracks. This is a fantastic live performance. Powell is full of imagination at break neck speeds that very very few pianists could even keep up with. You can really hear what so inspired Keith Jarrett in recordings like this and Bouncing w/ Bud."
Very good late period Powell

"One of the many solid Powell performances from the 1960s recorded in Germany. Bud is supported by Oscar Pettiford, Kenny Clarke and on a few tracks, Coleman Hawkins on tenor."
Still Amazing

"Proof that Bud could smoke every bit as fast and generate astounding improvisations at a point in his life where most considered him a washup. Listen to that Coleman Hawkins! Oscar Pettiford! Kenny Clarke! The recording quality is astounding - sounds like just yesterday. An absolute must for Jazz fans, not just Budheads.TEN STARS!"
