"This guy is a Ghost in the Machine. He's a landmine, under the ground just waiting to blow up. With no commercial potential and all raw talent he is exactly what the Rap World needs. Delivering full servings with each release, and ever elvolving.
At a time when everyone is trying to buy the fattest beat off the hottest D.J. and Veterans are pulling out young guns to stay afloat, this man Buck 65 makes his own beats, scratches, and kicks the fresh verses with a slew of vocal personalities all hidden within himself.
Each album is chock full of different snippets, breakdowns, and mini-beats. This particular album starts out down-tempo, and revs, then peels out towards the end. He switches styles well with the beat's moods. As usual the songs will change in the middle of a 5 minute track and become a completely different song. Its always a mystery the first few times you listen, remembering parts you liked, but not knowing exactly what part of the track it was on. With samples, interludes and recurring answering machine messages, he maintains perfect breath control and good rhythm. He never sounds like he's trying too hard, but he still comes accross tight.
This album,on a whole,is not as good as 'Vertex', all together, but there are songs on here that show the new styles(beats and rhymes)that are developing in Buck 65 and its a monster growing uncontrolably. He will eventually break free and tear apart MCees accross the globe.
This guy is No bling,No glitz,No glam, just straight up, dirty jazzy hiphop style beat musik, with a frontman/backbone of superstar status that will remain down to Earth for his own self-worth.This thing called hiphop is better when self produced(Heiro,Legends,Fellowship, Shapeshifters,Anticon).
BUCK the system,..."
