CD ReviewsDivine(?) Head Steve Davies | Bridgend, South Wales, UK | 08/19/2000 (3 out of 5 stars) "Okay, if you've never heard of Brutal Deluxe, basically, they're a British three-piece metal band. I heard of the band due to the fact that they are constantly touring my area, and are considered one of the best new bands to come out of Britain. This, their debut album, isn't exactly groundbreaking. Opening track 'Soulmurder', despite being a crowd favourite when they play it live, is rather trad and repetitive when put to CD. This just about sums up the majority of the album, repetitive and rather dull. Instant comparisons can be made to Pantera or maybe early Korn, while the percussion and bass is rather more like Tool or even Soulfly. Highlights of this very average album are the bruising 'Full Frontal', and 'Westworld'. The rest of the album just chugs along - a bit like watching paint dry, really. To be blunt, an album for true followers only."
