"This was when Brujeria could grind, and grind they did. The sound of Brujeria on Matando Gueros kinda reminds of older Napalm Death from their grind era, which means fast, brutal, and short bursts of noise behind indecipherable vocals. The music is well done, and the lyrics while not very insightful when translated into English are just hilarious. Anyone into older, raw grind should pick this up but just avoid their new albums. Favorite tracks = Leyes Narcos, Matando Gueros, Sacrificio, Seis Seis Seis."
LOL..a good time it is!!

"First of all let me say Brujeria is a kick [tail] Band, and While there Facade of Devil Worshiping Mexican drug smugglers is a joke, but What Juan Brujo is singing about here is more then gore obssesed metal, pure evil I would say,and I think he means it too,I don't get that feeling from other death metal or grindcore bands. This album here was a little disappointing to me after hearing Raza Odija and Brujerizmo I was expecting more of the same Harsh in yer face death metal, but instead got poor audio and short songs that never really got a chance to get going, but that being said it is still a good album, the standout tracks are "Molestando Ninos Muertos",Narcos-Satanicos and the Title track "Mantando Gueros",If yer going to check out Brujeria then don't get this one first instead go for "Raza Odija" Or Brurizmo,or even the greatest hits package Mextremist, and to the other 3 star reviewers on here I suggest you check those out you probably won't be disapponited.Oh yeah the cover art is awesome it blows away anything Cannibal Corpse or Carcass ever done, don't get me wrong those are great bands,it's just Brujeria has the best cover art I've seen from a band, enough said goodbye and Longlive BABYLAND"
So sick, it's actually fun.

"Brujeria is not a technical death-metal band. Their stuff is rather simple, churning heaviness. So, do not compare it to Cryptopsy, for chrissakes! You either like it or you don't, and I definitely do. I am from Puerto Rico, so Spanish is actually mi first language. Hearing such low, guttural vocals sung in Spanish is definitely uncommon. But it is fun. I am used to hearing basically the same things from bands like Deicide or Acheron, but in Spanish, it's just hilarious. But, religious people, or older people take it way seriously. I once played it for my sister (24 years old) and she freaked out! She was actually scared and begged me to turn it off. Imagine my parents hearing it. They don't get it. They don't see the humor in it. Whatever. If you do, you'll have a great time. The music is really, really heavy. I have not tried to figure out any of it, but it sounds like some seriously detuned instruments, and there are several bassists, making it sound ridiculously low. Definitely unique in sound and in style, and so gross its actually funny."

"The debut of this group out of Mexico proved only to be the start of something big, and this classic start will never be forgotten, brutality all the way through, and also lots of humorous comments throughout the CD in Spanish. I highly reccomend this CD to anyone who likes anything heavy."
