Brown Shoes release of The Wheat Patch in 2006 garnered outstanding reviews and tremendous college radio support charting on CMJ. Over the last couple of years, Brown Shoe has performed at festivals and clubs across the entire United States. They have been called everything from shoegazers to show-offs. Differences aside, people are gravitating towards their live performances. The release of Vanity in June 2007 attracted even more press, placements on MTV and radio play on over 300 stations. Then a handful of new songs began to take shape as the foundation for what would eventually become Brown Shoes latest record, Jackalope, recorded between January and April of 2008. They made the decision to stay near their hometown of Folsom, California and work with Joe Johnston (Cake, Deftones). With a finished third record, Brown Shoe embarked on a thirty date national tour including a date at New York Citys CMJ Music Festival. Other notable festival dates include The Midwest Music Summit, Play STL Fest, SXSW and The Hyperactive Music Festival.
