"Christmas: part religion, part music, part ribbons & paper"

(4 out of 5 stars)
"Produced in 1985, just a few months after "Cazimero Christmas Favorites," an album of seventeen songs, was released, this album (with cover art of a red package and green ribbon) was issued with just ten songs, including nine songs from that previous album. Only "Don't Let This Moment Pass You By" is a new song; seven songs included in the previous album are omitted on this CD.
1. "We Three Kings," 5:00.
2. "Silent Night," 4:12
3. "Hawaiian Santa," 2:45
4. "Winter Wonderland," 2:36
5. "White Christmas," 3:07
6. "Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful," 5:07
7. "Me and My Teddy Bear," 2:32
8. "Don't Let This Moment Pass You By," 2:50
9. "I Will Sing Praises," 2:40
10. "The Lord's Prayer," 2:12
This Christmas luau of songs ranges from traditional carols, such as the wonderfully arranged and sung "We Three Kings" to contemporary songs, such as "Me and My Teddy Bear" and "Hawaiian Lu'au." As is always the case with the Cazimeros, the emphasis is on elegant harmonies which highlight the range of their voices, including Hawaiian falsetto, with occasional multiple tracks which allow them to introduce countermelodies and rhythms. With Robert playing his bass guitar and Roland on the 12-string, there is no need for additional instruments.
Their rhythms are compelling, and every song is a "star turn," with elaborate arrangements showcasing their many talents. Unfortunately, this album lacks the song "blends" ("Away in a Manger/ Ho'omaika'i" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/Christmas Lu'au") which are among the Cazimeros' best and most popular tracks. It's a lovely album, beautifully sung, but it lacks forty percent of the songs from the "Cazimero Christmas Favorites" album. Mary Whipple
