If you can find a copy . . .

"This album was released between "Inland Sailor" and "Seven Sisters," all of which are now out of print. The instrumental tracks are very good, as is the title track, "Monterey Pines," "From Boston to Dublin," and "Late Night Train." All of the songs are inventive and soulful as you would expect from Brooks. Also, almost none of these songs are available on any of his compilations. The only complaint I have is that the songs don't fit together as well as his later albums, which makes it feel more like a collection of songs than a single statement. Otherwise, it's one of my favorite albums. If you like Brooks and you can find a copy, you won't be disappointed."
