CD ReviewsThe next big thing from Scotland Nobody | 12/12/2009 (3 out of 5 stars) "Self-described as "indie-folk", this seven man band uses instruments like violins and accordians, and rather predictably sound like New Model Army. This is their debut record on 4AD, and personally I find it long on theme and short on hooks. There's a sense of anticipation that never quite breaks out into the wall of sound you're expecting. The drums amp up, more instruments come online and you get the great shouting chorus, but it falls short of being thrilling. The vocal talent is also not quite there. Not that this won't appeal to some, but it's not my cup of malt."
