This is a new recording of selections from the hit Broadway musical, Dreamgirls. Henry Krieger composed this Tony-Winning musical which debuted on Broadway in 1982. There are 42 tracks on this album: Tracks 1-21 contain the background tracks and guide vocals; tracks 22-42 contain the accompaniment tracks alone. This album is a re-recording in the original show key and show tempo. There are no on-screen lyrics or lyric booklet provided.

"This Dreamgirls version is consistent with the Broadway Musical. The accompaniment tracks are well orchestrated and great for our rehearsals. Most of the original songs did not change when they were used in the film, so I would recommend it to people interested in the movie. This album is the only one I've found that provides alternative versions of Cadillac Man."
