"This is a very deceptive soundtrack. If you've seen the preview for this movie, then you most likely assumed that it would be full of fast paced, hard hitting action tracks to accompany the high octane Nicholas Cage butt kicking that ensues on screen. But ooooh, when you see the movie itself, you realize you are sorely mistaken in your assumption. That being said, I happen to be quite glad that Bryan Tyler didn't follow the cookie cutter formula of matching action with classic action music.
Seeing how this movie tells the story of an assassin seeking peace in his life, as well as redemption to some degree, there are a lot of quiet moments in between the chase scenes, the hand to hand combat and maelstrom of bullets. In fact, these moments make up more then half of the movie. That being the case, I believe Tyler has done a magnificent job composing a suitable backdrop for the story to be told. What some people who've reviewed this CD call boring is actually masterful use of synth, chime, chorus, violin, etc. There's great art in subtlety, and tracks like "Rain", "Fon's Theme" or "Bangkok Reflections" are great examples of it. Serene, I think is the best word to describe this score as a whole.
If you are into big action themes like something out of "Transformers" or "Fast and Furious" or anything of the like, then you might not really feel this score and, like the reviewer before me, find this to be a snooze fest. But if your like me and enjoy some good music, this is a great choice, and most definitely worth the money. It has yet to come out of my CD changer since I got it a week ago. Awesome score to a mediocre movie.

"I went to purchase Eagle Eye from Brian Tyler and I bought this soundtrack on a whim. It is outstanding. The themes are amazing starting off with the haunting first song. The action is top notch and the music is epic."
