Synopsis

Mate to the wonderfully invigorating morning collection, P.M. Yoga Melodies sonically carves out space for a mind-body-spirit wind-down come end of the day. Composer/musician Brian Scott Bennett's hour of music again makes use of piano, keyboards, and guitars accented with sultry and soothing sitar, tabla, and hurdy-gurdies. As with the previous, Jennifer Warnes offers her pliant phonetic vocals, where they are most captivatingly utilized in "Connecting the Fragments," a lengthy piece also featuring violin. More exotic than its morning companion, P.M. Melodies is sensual and languorous, inviting the listener to move through a relaxational yoga routine, lounge in reverie, or soak away a day's cares before trundling off to bed. --Paige La Grone

P.M. yoga Melodies

(3 out of 5 stars)

"While some selections are really lovely and contribute to a progressive feel of relaxation, there are a couple of selections that are too blues inspired and jazzie in tone to blend into the overall CD. It makes it not as easy to practice to as I'd hoped it would be. If I could edit out the two selections that jump to dfferent attitudes and rhythms I could highly recommend this CD"

"I have just purchased my third Yoga CD from this company and this a standout, though I love them all. A nice blend of pop, meditative and world instrumentation, almost sounds like a movie soundtrack. Songs number 3 and 6 are my favorites. My sister has this CD and loves to use for her massage classes and private practice. She said..."just buy it.""
