"A friend took me along to see Brian Nova perform live in Seattle, and I thought I'd walked into a hip rat pack music set form the 50's! I was pulled into a genre of music I clearly didn't appreciate before that night. This CD demonstrates why 'big name' musicians call Brian when they need to lay down a guitar track. The vocals on his other CD's will make you want to run, not walk, to see him perform at the Victoria Jazz festival. He is so fun to watch live!"

"I have been a jazz guitar fan for my whole life, and Brian Nova is not only world-class, he's in a class of his own. I have all of his CD's, and Shadow of Your Smile is my favorite. Brian manages to carry the energy he brings to the stage (if you have a chance to see him live - GO!)to this great album. His rifs seem to come from his toes. "Shadow" is the perfect CD for entertaining - as he moves from great standards to the Island sounds of Akaka Falls. The album offers great variety while staying consistently classic Nova. Simply wonderful!!"
