Brian and his hand picked sextet (including saxophone giant Vincent Herring) play rare and unrecorded compositions by trumpeters Idrees Sulieman, Tommy Turrentine, Howard McGhee, Joe Gordon, Donald Byrd, and Lynch's own originals. Unsung Heroes is a tribute to those great underappreciated jazz trumpeters who have "flown under the jazz public's radar" these many years.
