CD Reviews

Masterful.

"Ever since my first listening of the Train Spotting soundtrack, I've been a fan of Mr. Eno's music. This CD exceeded my expectations for two reasons: 1) although it is compiled of previously released music, the selection and arrangement create an entirely unique atmosphere; and 2)The booklet has very insightful analyses of Mr. Eno's music theory and influence. The compilation focuses on Mr. Eno's approachable, mellow music styles rather than his avante guarde, quirky ones. The Italian company that released this CD seems to be creating a series of recording artist "portraits", and I can't help but feel validated by their selection of Mr. Eno as Number 1.I have listened to this CD over work and over wine...enjoy!"
A mix of new and old

"Evaluating a CD like this is difficult, because many of the tracks can be found on other CDs. Although I really enjoyed "Left where it fell."If you don't have much Brian Eno in your collection and would like to explore his ambient, this is a good buy. I'd also consider this a good gift for someone who hasn't been introduced to Brian Eno.That being said, I enjoyed hearing Brian Eno speak, the first time. Since then, I skip that particular track. Not that I didn't appreciate it, but that I load up my computer with music, and like music to be music and words to be words. It's just a triffle pretentious. It is facinating, to hear where Eno places himself, what his influences are."
