"Indie/alternative rock with female singer that somehow manages to buck the current trends in indie rock and still sound fresh and relevant. Unlike a lot of their contemporaries' lyrics, which are either simplistic or buried, or hyper-literate to a fault, this band brings a pathos and immediacy to its lyrics and some of its songs that makes you wish more folks had heard of them. Such is often the case w/ excellent bands, unfortunately.



Sonically, Breech has expanded their palate since their last full-length (the excellent if uneven "Apron Strings"), adding interesting production elements to their rock stew, with forays into creepy country-waltz territory ("Sweet One"), Waits-y arthouse weirdness ("Schubert Waltz"), and odd time signatures ("Time wont heal" sounds like 5 to me). Fans of PJ Harvey, Patti Smith might be interested.



A great line from the last song stays with me even now... "We laughed at stories never funny before", the awkwardness of painful situations distilled. Go Breech!"
