Say, in 1984 or so, following a friend's advice I checked the (never heard before) Brecker brothers, the only one they carried in store was "Detente" so I bought it; well next thing I remember is being P... off by the disco-funk beat which I hated, but after some 30 seconds when the first chorus went off, had realized that it was my best record ever. Well what they do is, take any style and burst it from the inside, into jazz frenzy. My masters ever since, btw I used to play trumpet and my bro is still a pro at saxophone, he learned a great deal from them crazy brothers.
