Braid's reissue of their first record in 2010 is a worthy release even though they're all no bonus tracks. The album contains a song for every letter of the alphabet and has other cool devices that make this album's structure unique. You can read about it on the Polyvinyl Records website and in the reissue's liner notes. This album is full of raw enthused emo-core a la Cap n Jazz and early Promise Ring (more like the latter). To me it's a document of history of young musicians that would do different things later. A lot of Mid-West emo bands sounded like this and actually borrowed parts and ideas from each other, and that's really cool. The songs sound like shows I've went to in high school, so it's really nostaligic to hear this alternately melodic than screamy emo songs. A bittersweet masterpiece really. This can be seen as a more aggressive than most 90s emo bands. There are other unusual songs on here besides aggressive emo too (with 26 songs, there better be). My favorites on here are "Wax Wings"(all hardcore), "Minuet", "Featherweight", "Capicorn", Yawn London", and more.
