"Harold Wright made the widely-regarded reference recording of these sonatas with Harris Goldsmith forty years ago. In this recording he has improved on those. Peter Serkin has the deftness of touch to complement every nuance. Highly recommended."

"Harold Wright has a tone that sounds like you could touch it. The sheer direction and inevitability of each phrase from both musicians is enchanting, not to mention that Harold Wright's sound quality is at once delicate and highly penetrative. Brahms is surely smiling on this one from whatever cosmic archangel dominion he has inherited. Not to be too intense about it, but these musicians balance in a way that brings the music to life."
