Great CD

"I very much enjoyed Bourbon Corw's first cd, Highway To Hangovers. Unfortunately, as a lover of most all music, including country, I couldn't shake the feeling that they were making fun of the genre rather than paying homage, despite Wednesday's southern roots. Most, if not all, of the songs were laced with 13's dark humor and horror theme, and seemed more like a fun little project (much like Weirdo A Go Go) rather than an attempt to make a country album.
Long Way To The Bottom, in my opinion, is a much more legitimate foray into country. Most of these songs (the opening track sheds the last bit of the previous album's tone) could hold up quite well on a country radio station. Taking on a more southern rock approach that would make Molly Hatchet proud, these are songs of southern life, friends, and heartbreak, albeit a few unrefined lyrics.
If you hate country and are simply a Bourbon Crow fan because of it's humor and it's frontman, I'd advise you to pass on this album. If you are like me (and Wednesday 13), and appreciate many different genres of music, this is a perfect example of a great, multi-talented artist."
