"This is the second Bossa 3 group, the pianist and leader is the same: Maestro Luiz Carlos Vinhas, but his side men are different for this 1966 album (remastered in 2003 for the celebration of 100 years of Music in Brasil); with Ronnie Mesquita on drums, and Otavio Bailly Jr. on bass guitar.
All Bossa 3 albums are great, but this one is fantastic!!!,it's the picture perfect for the Hard Bossa / Bossa Jazz / Samba Jazz styles that were the forerunners in the 60's of what we know now as Brazilian Jazz. Actually the title for this album is "The Kings of Rhythm" and they are right on the money; their pace, cadence and infectious rhythms cannot be any faster and intoxicating; to my point of view, there was no better Jazz Trio in Brasil at that time (including Som Tres / Tamba Trio / Milton Banana Trio / Rio 65 Trio / Joao Donato Trio) and the best way to witness that is through this specific album chosen among hundreds and thousands for this historical re-mastering.
The whole album is a standout, but probably the best track in here is their ideas, and interpretations of Marcos Valle's "Samba de Verao" or "Summer Samba" wooooooowww!!!! it is unbealivable.
Grab history by snatching this amazing album recorded on CD for the first time; it's worth ever single penny."
