Most accessible of the Super Roots series

"At only 14 or so minutes it carries a bit of a hefty price tag, but darned if this isn't maybe my favourite of the Super Roots series. OK so maybe "accessible" is the wrong way to describe this band in any case, but seriously, this would be one of the releases I would point the newbie Boredoms fan to.
Ostensibly a cover of a Japanese children's show theme (Jungle Taitei), this release features the Boredoms interpretation of the original theme, plus two re-interpretations. The first is relatively straightforward sounding although I have not heard the original theme, the second is somewhat spare and electronic sounding, and the third is lush and gorgeous - the vocal harmonies alone being worth the price of admission.
So if you like latter day Boredoms or want to hear these Japanoise mavericks at their most "pop" - dive right in and buy this one. It's kind of like the foil to the extreme noise of Super Roots 5 - the yin to it's yang."
