Not a career defining album, but still good

"Booker T tries to update his original MG sound by going a little heavier and adding more distortion, and well it does have a nice result, but not as classic or funky as his MG songs. Potato hole is probably one of the best songs on this CD and does a good job at modernizing the Booker T sound. Again, this is not as good as his MGs stuff, but it is a good effort and is a nice change in his style. This CD, however, is Booker T mainly just following trends rather than starting his own like he did back in the 60s with his style."
Nothing is forever.

"This is the first instrumental album by Booker T. Jones in a long time. He is backed by The Drive-By Truckers with Neil Young on lead guitar. This doesn't sound anything like Booker T. and the MG's (other than the organ), but it's still really good. Cool organ instrumentals with a rocking back up band."
