"South Bronx came out at a time when there was some dispute over where in New York Hip Hop originated, between the Bronx and Queensbridge. This cut blew the competition away. From the fresh James Brown sample to KRS One's simple yet effective battle rhyme this tune has to go down as one of the top 5 Hip Hop joints of all time. There is an almost casual feel as it starts with KRS and Scott La Rock greeting each other over the beat then getting straight into it. As a DJ I can recommend two copies to any self-respecting juggler. This is a must have, much sampled joint which has gone down in history and is in top ten tunes everywhere."
