"Bonnie is one of the reasons I quit the radio business after 8 years on the air in San Diego and San Francisco Bay Area, the Bus Boys were another. She is a fantastic singer/musician and performer who plays locally in the Bay Area with the Wild Combo which included (last time I saw them) her brother Kevin Hayes and a great bassist Hank Maninger (sp?). You may have heard of her brother Chris who is Huey Lewis' lead guitarist...Sadly, she has gotten very little radio airplay...and it astounds me to this day! Though it always seems the best songs are the ones you never hear on the radio.Bonnie spoonfed Bonnie Raitt her mega-hit song "Have A Heart"...she probably did a guide vocal for her becuase that song was so succulently Bonnie Hayes (sounded nothing like Bonnie Raitt's style)...every time i heard it i kept thinking "I hope Bonnie H. is getting some money from this..if no fame". (She got credit in the liner notes..)If you get a chance to see Bonnie Hayes live, don't hesitate, just go. She is a breath of fresh air who was before her time. Now there are many radio stations (i.e. Alice 97.3 San Francisco)that mostly play female artists. I just hope they pick up on one of the best soon!Try her earlier albums if you can find them. Bonnie has a song on the Valley Girl CD and had another CD a few years back that was excellent but hard to find. Also her vinyl albums before that were very fun and danceable."
