"If you are into the rock-solid, hard-swinging and fiery-hot 1970s New York salsa sounds, this is an absolutely essential CD for your collection. Marvin Santiago was a great sonero and he gives some of his rawest and funkiest performances on such outstanding tracks as "La Rumba Te Espera", "La Leonor", "Soy Boricua" and "Alacran (Tumbando Cana)". The only reason I did NOT give this excellent 1972 release a 5-star rating is because the remastering quality on most tracks is not that good."

"Killer Bobby Valentin with a young Marvin Santiago leading the way,, for those of you salseros who know Marvin Santiago from the late 70s early 80s fame,, pay careful attention to Marvin in his prime, when his voice was clear and his soneos were creative, ck out "" la rumba te espera' and see why people talk about Marvin in the same sentence as Ismael Rivera.. great tunes, great arrangement by the master bassist Bobby Valentin in a time and place that is lone gone when salsa arrangements and soneos were done for the love of the art and the passiona they felt for salsa at that time,,,, must have"
