"I'm a big fan of small group jazz and have seen Sanabria and his quartet live a few times...they take this genre into the 21st century...it's a fresh sound, yet still honors the forefathers and the history. AND there are several surprises throughout the album...for example, six minutes into "Soleshia," Sanabria incorporates chants for Chango, the Yoruba deity from Nigeria, which takes the track to another time, place and level and rounds it out as something new...a very new sound.... This album is a great mixture of classic jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms...the recording quality is also superb!"
