"I have had this CD since its release. I had recognized Bobby Lyle from his associations with Stanley Turrentine. Ivory Dreams' instrumentals are very entertaining to listen to. There is just one vocal. It's not Bobby himself, and although its done well, I usually skip it because it breaks up the fluidity of the tracks that are piano-led. I can never get tired of "Tropical", "Been so Long", and his cover of Duke Ellington's "Lush Life". This album is one of Lyle's best, and I still listen to it often. Because of it, I have kept up with his subsequent work. I recommend it and his other releases."
Magic!

"Twenty years ago I was turned on to this disc in college and since then gone through several copies. Everyone who hears it wants a copy. Sometimes people do the right thing at just the right time and everything clicks on all cylinders. This album is just that. It's a body of work that just blows you away. The music is great for just about anything especially traveling. It's smooth jazz at its finest.
This album is magic. It was unbelievable then and it's unbelievable now. The cover of "Been So Long" is tremendous! It reflects the fact that he was Anita Baker's music director on her early tours and Bobby just tears it up. Since it's not very widely in print get it before they run out of it. You won't be disappointed."
