"A Ballad Of The West is an amazing collection of history, poetry and song. It transposts you back to an incredible and exciting time in our past. The time of mountain man Jim Bridger, Lakota Holy Man Black Elk and William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. Bobby Bridger paints such a vivid picture of that era with his songs and poetry that you can almost feel what it was like to stand on a hilltop and look out over a herd of buffalo that stretched as far as the eye could see....to be the first person to ever set eyes on Yellowstone country....to be as "free as an eagle"....or what it was like to watch everything you held sacred torn away. This piece of work comes straight from the heart....and it touches your heart. And the best way to experience the full impact of it is to curl up in a comfortable chair with a good set of headphones and copies of A Ballad Of The West scripts (which can be downloaded from bobbybrigder.com) to read along with it. It's unforgettable!!...and SOOOO worth your time to experience it. In my opinion, it's a must have for every library!!! You won't be sorry! And if you love this, You'll also love the book,Buffalo Bill and Sitting Bull: Inventing the Wild West (M.K. Brown Range Life Series), another great experience by Bobby Bridger, which is an excellent companion piece to A Ballad Of The West, as it expands a good deal more on the history behind A Ballad Of The West. "Bobby Bridger does a masterful job in telling much of the story of the west in song. The prior review covers it well. This is great for when you are traveling in PU or car across the west. Young kids will get a different sense of time and place with these ballads playing as they travel."
