"Finding this album was a real treasure. Captain Kangaroo was always a joy to watch because it was so imaginative; in some ways it was like a prequel to Pee Wee's Playhouse. Anyway, several of the songs from the show are on this album including:"The Captain Kangaroo March""It's Another Be-Good-To-Mommy Day""Two Little Magic Words""Happy Birthday""Captain Says"Listening to the tunes brought back several memories. About the only thing missing were Mr. Moose and lots of falling ping-pong balls."
A very fun album for all ages, from a TV legend!

"Bob Keeshan was one of the pioneers of children's TV. He was the original Clarabelle the clown on the Howdy Doody show. Ironically, one problem during his tenure there was his admitted lack of musical ability. Yet music was definitely a part of his long career as Captain Kangaroo. This album appears to be a compilation. I first encountered three of these tracks on a two tape collection of children's songs. They only had the first half of A-Riddle-A-Diddle. It was fun to hear both halves here. Train Ride Square Dance and Toolpiper's Band are fun cuts. Another Be Nice To Mommy Day was written by Mr. Green Jeans! My only beefs are few. This CD is too short! Where's his original theme song, or the Horse in Striped Pajamas? I would have liked more information about these tracks. Someone should do a cross-licensed collection of all his recordings. How about the song "Wheels in his Head?" about Mr. Green Jeans?"
I wish it containd "Who's afraid of the thunder?"
