Bob James Live - All Around The Town

"While some of his studio albums tend to be a bit emotionless, Bob's concerts I had the privilege of attending from the late 70s to the late 80's were incredible. The music on this CD is from three concerts played in Manhattan (New York City) in 1979. Some of the best musicians around are on this CD, including Gary King, Idris Mohammad, Steve Gadd, Hiram Bullock, Tom Scott, Mark Colby, etc. This is by far my favorite Bob James CD (used to own vinyl), and reflects Bob's capabilities of playing both high energy and jazz standards. His classical influence shines through on Farandole, which is my favorite track on the CD. My other Bob James favorites include Double Vision (collaboration with David Sanborn), and BJ4."

Must own for piano/keyboard enthusiasts.

"I have just recently been introduced to Bob James' music. Of course I was familiar with "Angela" the theme from Taxi, but I never knew who it was. What a great album! I love every second of it and I highly recommend owning this. Such a great piano player. I look forward to discovering more music by this brilliant artist. Five stars for this one."
