If you buy only one big band CD, make it this one

"This is, without question, one of the finest big band recordings ever made. I was so impressed after hearing the final cut, "Misbehavin'" on the car radio one day, I ordered the CD right away. Master arranger Bob Florence has been on the scene for a long time, but this recording firmly establishes him as a jazz composer and arranger of the highest order. On this recording he leads some of L.A.'s finest in a tour-de-force of charts which range from sensitive ballads to latin to straight-out swing with fantastic solos throughout. Big band musicianship just doesn't get better than this."
Great big band, great charts.

"Florence put this one out in the 80's, and the band is first rate. The title track has a killer trombone solo and throughout the entire CD the rhythm section plays as one. Indeed, this album soars!"
