"I often hear Carol Fran sing in Lafayette, LA where she now lives. Though much older, I love to hear her sing with so much passion and pain, the true essense of a blues singer. When I found this CD I was floored. What an amazing soultress, along with Bettye LaVette. I never knew about her earlier work, and this CD is a must for anyone wanting to hear that old soul sound that we so desperately miss from music today. It is a heart breaker CD, but reminds us of the trials and tribulations that led these singers to perform from the heart and kept them on top of the charts."
