CD ReviewsThis is JACKPOT! and BLUES GROOVE, not a live CD. Tune Dude 007 | Central IL | 06/08/2007 (4 out of 5 stars) "Just wanted to write a quick review to clarify what this CD actually is. It is a reissue of two Woody LPs that originally appeared on Capitol in the mid 1950s: Jackpot!(1956) and Blues Groove (1956). To my knowledge, neither has appeared on CD before other than that Mosaic 6CD Capitol set which is long out of print. The sound on this CD is pretty good; it sounds a bit better than the original vinyl and if nothing else is very clean. The liner notes are prettty good in that they provide session info and musician credits. I don't know much about the Fresh Sounds label except is from Spain. This may be one of those so called "grey market" reissues which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Still, overall it's a pretty good sounding issue of two hard to find Woody LPs."
