CD ReviewsBarnyard Gone Wrong? CD Gone RIGHT! Tadpole in a Jar | Marietta, GA United States | 12/13/1999 (4 out of 5 stars) "Yes, essentially a less-silly, less-calypso, more-psychedelic Leftover Salmon, or Newgrass Revival. I've seen Blueground Undergrass half a dozen times here in Atlanta where they hail from, and have interviewed Jeff Mosier for my magazine and Web site. Yes, they are 10 times better live, but as a nice, clean studio souvenir of their stuff, this CD is good. They have another CD under a different name, Good Medicine, called "Prompt, Temporary Relief." This CD features a more traditional bluegrass style, and is actually even better than "Barnyard Gone Wrong." Get `em both or you're missing out!" Nothing wrong here! Michael Indgin | Westchester, CA United States | 10/31/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Of the recent bands that use bluegrass as a jumping off point (Leftover Salmon, the Flecktones, String Cheese Incident, Victor Barnes) Blueground Undergrass seem to stay closest to their roots. This is just dandy with me as the traditional framework provides a great showcase for the stellar musicianship. The pedal steel work in particular is real fine. Red-Haired Orange Blossom Special is a favorite, especially at 4:19 (give or take a minute). Pick it up for your next hoedown." Great CD, but better live okelnard@hotmail.com | Old Lyme, CT | 06/26/1999 (4 out of 5 stars) "I saw these guys open for Leftover Salmon two nights in a row. B.G.U.G. is a lot like a less silly, less Cajun version of salmon. Don't get me wrong, the CD is great, but Blueground Undergrass is ten times better live! Dare I say they were better than LoS! The best songs on the CD are "Oh Death" "The Times They are a-changin'" and "Mr. Lunchbox". Banjoist Jeff Mosier was a founding member of the Aquarium Rescue Unit, so you can be sure there's plenty of jamming on here...highly reccomended!"
