CD ReviewsNot Bad, But Not Their Best jekyllnhyde | NJ | 08/12/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "Actually, I'd give this 3 1/2 stars. It has a strong Delta-blues influence with several laid-back acoustic & country-blues tracks. Lead singer Karen Lawrence is impressive as always, although she can't let loose here the way she does on the band's harder material. She's often compared to Janis Joplin, however I think she's much more similar to Dale Krantz from the Lynyrd Skynyrd spinoff, the Rossington-Collins Band. If Delta-blues is your style, you'll probably rate this album much higher. If you prefer a harder-rocking style of blues, you're better off looking for their LIVE AT THE LAKE double-CD. On the latter, Lawrence belts out the blues about as well as you'll ever hear it done." GOOD ACOUSTIC BLUES Avalon Don | Huntington Beach, California United States | 03/05/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) ""Hard Daze" is more about respect, much like if Johnny Winter were to to go unplugged. It is a good cd with primarily acoustic Blues showing the Blue By Nature's versatility. I still like the band rocking more like on their two previous releases"Blue To The Bone" and "Live At The Lake", but not every listener wants to be blown out. Lead singer Karen Lawrence is equal to Janis and Tina with more voice control. Why she isn't a big star is quite baffling."
