Bold, brassy, bossy p-funk.

"Here, we find Clinton/Collins/Worrell and the rest of the P-funk Mob in fine form as they colloborate with Wesley, Maceo Parker and The Horny Horns featuring the Brecker Brothers. And the result is, like I said, bold, brassy, bossy P-funk. Look out for Chaka's sister Taka Khan's and Randy "what's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this" Crawford's background vocals in the "Up for the Down Stroke" redux. "Peace Fugue" has Fred Wesley in a Chuck Mangione mode. Bootsy is his space-bass best, particularly in the cut "Between Two Sheets". Bernie Worrell's keyboard fills have a spacey life of their own. Say what you will about loyalty--Fred, Maceo, et. al., leaving the hardest working man in show business to help land/launch the Mothership--this helped the boys show how really versatile they were. I find I can't get enough of the sound."
