CD ReviewsGenius, it grows on you... BurnPTCruisers | Seattle, WA USA | 10/06/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Ok. First, I tend to listen to a lot of Radiohead, Sigur Rós, bossa nova, some ambient electronic and dub, I figure I'd better describe that before I get into the Blood Brothers. When I was introduced to this band, via the album "Burn Piano Island, Burn", the person introducing me to it thought it was terrible, and was falling over laughing. I couldn't listen to the music for 30 seconds. However, when I moved into a house with some friends, the fellow who lived across the hall from me loaned me "Crimes". This was due to my little brother arguing about how good the band was live, and I figured I'd give it another shot. After putting it on a couple times, it got really interesting and addictive, I started catching some of their poetry, as well as the intricate texture that they put into the music, and really it just started passing me a whole lot of energy. Ironically, it was what helped me finish a political science thesis. After listening further down the catalogue, I found that I deeply appreciate their albums, and I am looking towards "Young Machetes" as being one of the most powerful records released this year."
