"In my opnion, this is the best album to come out from Psychopathic since Mostasteless. Mike P. had nothing to do with this album, which explains why every beat on every song is banging. You could tell Blaze had more fun making this album than he did with One Less G In Da Hood, because for this one he did the music that he likes. Guitars are almost totally absent from this album, which in my opnion is a big plus. Best songs are Stick Ya Hands Up, Roll It Up and Mr. Dead Folx. Pick it up if you're into some dead ass G rap."

The Long Awaited Colton Grundy

"First of all, let me start by saying I am not going to take Blaze's laziness into account for this review. "Colton Grundy" took Blaze nearly three years to complete, and there is only about 48 minutes of actual music on this LP. I'm going to grade this just like any other album I have in the past.



"Bump This Shhh" jumps right into the gangster rap flavor. As soon as I heard this track, I knew Blaze had finally found his niche. He moves away from the heavy guitar riffs, and into the bass-laden bumpin' beats. The track is Blaze's diss to the mainstream, and he is totally on point when it comes to his criticisms. "Open up your closed mind and you might see - that you care about the music if it sets your soul free," is as deep as deep as Blaze can get, but it sounds cool from a guy with such a hardcore gangsta sound.



"The Touch of Death" is a well-produced second track, and has a more horrorcore-like sound. Blaze tells his story about being a dead man, which we've all heard him do in the past. "Shotgun," arguably the most (original) gangster rap song ever released on Psychopathic Records. I can't explain to you how awesome Jamie Madrox sounds on the hook. "Shotgun-Shotgun - Double-barrelled, sawed-off - stay strapped homie, this shxt is about to pop off! Me I be a G from way back in the day - with that I don't give a fxxk about yo' set type mentality." Esham spits a weak verse on the track, but it doesn't ruin it.



"If I Fall" another awesome track. Lavel and Madrox spit insanely good raps, and Blaze tears it up as well. "Hey You" has some Bay Area influence (the beat), but I'm not a big fan of this track. Blaze is just talking about his bxxches - we've all heard it before. "Stick Ya Hands Up," "Further From The Truth," "Dayz of My Neighborhood," provide for a solid middle. None of these tracks really stand out, but they are all great songs.



Track 10, "Roll It Up," sucks. I'm sorry to say, but I think it is the worst song on the album, even though Blaze says it is one of the "singles" on "Colton Grundy." Blaze is a weak storyteller, and this song just talks about how he smokes weed in a club...lame. "Mr. Dead Folx" is a bangin' hit. Violent J is featured, and he has a great verse to the song. This is definitely one of the strongest tracks on the album. "2 Many Bitches" is another awesome song. MC Breed, a Detroit legend, does the hook, and it sounds great. ABK and Blaze tear the track up as well. "Timeline" is decent, and "Climbing" is an excellent finishing track that features Twiztid, Esham and Violent J.



THis is the best Blaze work to date. The production (split between Fritz, Lavel, and The R.O.C,) is fantastic, Blaze has found his gangsta sound, and guest appearances are balanced out. Pick up "Colton Grundy" and Bump That Shhh!"

"This cd I thought was pretty good. Blaze has some lines that are meaningful but I think he would fit in perfectly rapping to the beats that are fast pacing because I have heard him in some tracks that had the fast pacing beat and he seemed to be able to master it. This cd did have some ups and downs but there were far more ups than there was downs in this one.



1. Bump this Shh-4/5 good start off to the album. Blaze informs that you like what you like and if you never were really interested in his stuff then don't bother.



2. Touch of Death-10/5 Here we go. The fast pacing beat and Blaze masters it. I could listen to this one song 5 or 6 times in a row and never get tired of it.



3. Shotgun-5/5 Awesome track. The chorus was catchy and ABK did a pretty good job and so did Esham. I hear this song will be on some game that's coming out in the future.



4. Etched out in Chalk-6/5 Another really good track. Blaze does it again. Chorus is Awesome.



5. If I fall-3/5 Not really good but not that bad. Blaze did a decent job and tha Shadow did an alright job. If Madrox wasn't in this song it would be fine. Sorry but I don't think Madrox is all that great of a rapper. Anyway it's still ok.



6. Hey you-4/5 Pretty good. Blaze did a really good job lyrically in the verses but the chorus wasn't any good. The reason I gave it a four is because Blaze's rhymes were just that good.



7. Out tha gate-4/5 same as track 6



8. stick yo hands up-6/5 Really good. Blaze was awesome in this one and ABK was alright (ABK doesn't really catch my attention lyrically at all really) The Chorus was great seeing that apparently Violent J was part of it along with Blaze.



9. Further From Truth-2/5 Don't like it that much. Blaze's lyrics were decent but the beat was just too boring and the chorus wasn't really all that great neither.



10. dayz of my neighborhood-3/5 Lyrics were good. Love the meaning to it but again the beat needs to speed up a little bit for it to be perfect but other than that, not bad.



11. Bump it up-7/5 Perfect track. Fast pacing, Really good lyrics and Chorus was really good. More like party music but the lyrics were just too good to not mention about this song.



12. Mr. Dead Folx-6/5 Love this track. Pure gangsta stuff right here. Blaze and J got it locked down in this one. Lyrics, gangsta beat, and chorus were all mastered.



13. 2 many B*tches-4.5/5 This was a HUGE upgrade for ABK. I know I said he really didn't catch my attention lyrically but in this song he was outstanding. The chorus was also catchy but man ABK did a really good job. Blaze was alright but it seemed like he didn't try that hard in this one.



14. Timeline-10/5 Tied for first as my favorite. This was really good lyrically and the chorus was greatness. Great job lyrically by Blaze.



15. Climbing-8/5 This was a really good song starting off with Blaze and then Great lyrics by Esham(smooth as wine his rhymes are) the chorus was pretty good with everyone in this song joining in on it. Madrox and Monoxide are not all that great in my opinion but that's ok because J was up next and he did his thing(good as usual) and Blaze finished it off with what he had to say. Other Than Twiztid this song was great.



Ok so there you have it. I think that Blaze should come out with another album with quicker beats. No doubt that most of these songs were really good but I think that he should have Esham and Violent J on even more tracks or be by himself because he seems to do way better. He proved to me that he has great lyrical skills and he's still got years to go seeing he only made but one or so albums. Anyway I liked what I heard and can almost guarantee I'll like the stuff he'll put out in the future seeing that all he's going to do is get better."
